YouthBASE was born in 2006 by a small group of people who thought two things would go together exceptionally well: (1) the caring community and supportive relationships of after-school programming, and (2) intensive behavioral and academic intervention typically found in schools and clinical settings. We thought that the small, intimate environment of an after-school program would greatly facilitate behavioral support.

We are also proud to say that we didn't invent much of what we do - we have searched high and low for best practices - those ideas that we feel have the greatest likelihood of producing results. We have then creatively integrated these strategies into a comprehensive support program.
