FAQs > Teachers & School Personnel > How can teachers help YouthBASE?

We find it more beneficial to our kids when we work closely with schools. At the same time, we know you (teachers and staff) are busy, and we respect that. We try to keep our communication brief and "to-the-point."

There are several you can help us help our kids:

  1. Keep us informed: If there is a change in the child's behavior or academic growth, a relevant school meeting, or other news, we'd really appreciate you letting us know! We don't always hear from parents when a note is sent home about important meetings or events.
  2. 5-minute Rating Scale: Several times throughout the year we may ask you to complete a short (under 10 questions) rating scale to assess the child's behavioral progress. This helps us adjust our interventions.
  3. E-mail communication: Throughout the year we will e-mail you about each child's progress. Most of these e-mails will be short and provide information we hope will be helpful.
  4. Homework check: Let us know if a child does not do his/her homework, preferably the day that the child does not turn an assignment in. We have program consequences for kids who do not turn in homework.
